Vector or Raster ... What's the Difference?

Knowing the difference between a raster and vector image is the key to beginning your sign or decal making process. Having your logo in a vector format is essential. Raster images are composed of pixels and when enlarged to meet your size requirements during printing will cause your image to become blurry and pixelated. Vector images are mathematically created so the image retains it's sharp composure when enlarging even up to sizes as large as vehicles or buildings. All of our solid color decals are created using vector images, which means files that have extensions such as .ai, .pdf, and .eps are most likely to work with our process without requiring us to redraw or recreate it. Raster images will work when you are requesting a printed product as long as the image has a high enough resolution.

It is recommended that you send us a vector image whenever submitting a logo for either process. This will ensure that it is as sharp and clean looking as possible. Limited to vector files, these banners can contain five or more colored layers While slightly more limiting than Full Color Banners, this option will still allow you to display your logo and other messages with relative ease. We have a wide variety of vinyl colors for you to choose from and five different colors of banners in all standard sizes to capture the public's imagination.
